Keep Your Rosaries Off Our Ovaries
This activist poster champions reproductive rights and advocates for the separation of church and state in women's healthcare. Created during the precarious times of 2021 when Roe v. Wade was in danger of being overturned, the poster features a powerful message: 'Keep Your Rosaries Off Our Ovaries.' Using a rosary transformed into the shape of a uterus, complete with an ominous upside-down cross, the poster boldly resists any attempt to restrict women's autonomy.
The upside-down cross conveys the sinister nature of the church's intrusion into women's healthcare. It adds an element of provocation and rebellion to the design, emphasizing the urgency of the pro-choice message.
Perfectly sized at 9"x9", this activist poster is ideal for posting on bulletin boards around town, spreading the message far and wide.
This series of prints was created with a combination of Riso and screen printing techniques. First, I printed the Riso layers to help with alignment. Then, I added the finishing touches with screen printing.
